Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska Printable Electronic Remittance Software (BPERS)

BPERS is desktop software that allows you to view, print and archive standard electronic remittance advice reports generated by BCBSNE. BPERS uses the standard ANSI 835 Electronic Remittance Transaction (ERA), which contains more detailed information about the claim than the BCBSNE legacy paper proprietary remittance advice. BPERS will sort the BCBSNE remittance information alphabetically or by Patient Control Number.

Print only the information you need whether it’s for just one patient or for all the patients on that payment. You select the records you want to print. The remittance files you download from NEBLUEconnect can be saved so you have the ability to create an electronic archive of your BCBSNE remittance advices. Any time you need another copy you can access the file - on demand!

To obtain a version of BPERS that is created specifically for your office, contact an EDI Account Manager. When you receive your version of BPERS, you will also receive installation instructions, or you can download them here.

Certification

Our certification tool validates the ability of the submitter to send transactions that meet ANSI standards and certain BCBSNE business rules which are included in our Companion Documents. Once certified in a transaction, a user will be approved to send electronic transactions in the ANSI format to BCBSNE in production mode for adjudication.

The certification process begins when electronic files are uploaded by the trading partner to an interactive certification tool. This user-friendly interface is submitter-driven and allows trading partners to work at their own pace. Users self-certify their transactions and receive real-time validation and troubleshooting resources.
