NODP partners create customer service training program
The North Omaha Development Project announced a recruitment and training program
designed to prepare workers for available customer service positions at two of the
area’s largest corporations, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska and Mutual of
Omaha. The program will include both training and mentoring. Participants will learn
the skills necessary to contribute to society through meaningful, gainful employment,
as well as how to overcome barriers to successful long-term employment. Participants
will also be introduced to customer service operations in order to gain experience in
determining appropriate responses to all types of customer needs and requests. The
program will build and strengthen the individual, family and community life in North

Trowbridge elected to TriWest board of directors
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska announced Executive Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer Lewis E. Trowbridge has been elected to the board of
directors of TriWest Health Alliance, Inc. TriWest is a Phoenix-based health
insurance company that provides health insurance for the members of the United
States Armed Forces and their families. As part of his new duties, Trowbridge
will also chair TriWest's Audit Committee and serve on the Finance Committee.

career as a trial attorney would have been a natural fit. But Sarah Waldman

Blue Cross to pay for generic drugs
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska will offer to pay the out-of-pocket costs
for generic drugs for about 350,000 of its Nebraska customers for three months
as a promotion to encourage the use of lower-cost medications.

N-Lighten Nebraska 2008
N-Lighten Nebraska 2008 has officially kicked off its annual campaign and is
calling for companies, communities and families to enter the statewide wellness
program. Officials announced the opening and unveiled an updated website with
new registration options and an increased partnership with Subway, the official
team meeting place of N-Lighten Nebraska. Over 10,000 people are expected to
participate in 2008.
